New Kingfisher Products - Now Available

BP-2, BP-4, BP-6 - Backplanes with integrated 5V regulator

Available in 2, 4 and 6 slot sizes, the BP backplanes are aimed at small scale applications for the CP-12 and CP-30 based RTU platforms.
The BP backplanes include an integrated 5VDC regulator and built-in LED power indicators, allowing the RTU to be powered directly from an external 12VDC supply without the need for a Kingfisher PS module.

When combined with the CP-12 or CP-30 CPUs, and any of the combination I/O modules, offers a Modular RTU at a reduced price and footprint, while still offering a platform for expansion.

For further details refer to the new Kingfisher PLUS hardware manual.

DI-10-GPS - GPS connection for DI-10 modules

The DI-10-GPS provides a connection for a GPS transceiver that allows SOE (Sequence Of Events) time stamping with absolute accuracy of better than ±2mS across different sites.

Only one DI-10-GPS module is required for an RTU as it will provide time synchronisation for any other DI-10 modules in the RTU. Note that to synchronise time on other DI-10 modules the other DI-10 modules must be hardware version 4.3 or later.

The DI-10-GPS will also correct the time of the CP-30 using the GPS time to allow it to accurately reflect time in the local time zone.

Note that the DI-10-GPS is only suitable for CP-30 based systems.

For further details refer to the new Kingfisher PLUS hardware manual.

New Kingfisher Technical Bulletin - Kingfisher modules - Electrical Safety Advice

If you are an end user or reseller of any of the IO-2, IO-3, IO-4, DO-1, DO-2, TEL-REL-002, TEL-REL-003 or TEL-REL-004 products and these products are directly connected to hazardous voltages (>42VAC or > 60VDC), at the field connector of the module, then please read this safety advice. New Kingfisher Power Supply firmware for PC-1 CPUs

To maintain our commitment to offer backward compatibility wherever practical and possible, Semaphore has released the PC-1-PS firmware which enables existing PC-1 CPUs to be converted to a PS unit compatible with new CP-12 and CP-30 CPUs. This provides a simple and low cost upgrade path from PC-1 to our CP-12 or CP-30 CPUs that allows existing installations to remain physically untouched.

With a CP-12 or CP-30 in the backplane, the converted PC-1 will appear as a PS-11/12 etc.

For the cost of only the CP-12 or CP-30, users will gain access to the ongoing road maps of the two CPUs, and will gain further operational life from their original PC-1 RTUs.

The firmware can be downloaded along with technical note that explains how the modified PC-1-PS will behave from a new Knowledgebase article
